What a pair, I can't believe that they can manage to motivate themselves to have sex with each other every night, they are not exactly appealing from their photo. Perhaps they have to turn the light off, just so they can bare it, hence the cries of pain as they bump into furniture :)
Can you imagine having the gall to try and argue that this interferes with your right to family life, I am betting that some lawyer thought they might make a pretty bundle out of this, if they won the case.
Oh it makes me proud to be British......

I am feeling really sad that his stint as the 10th Doctor is coming to an end. I have been a Dr Who fan for years and previously was a Tom Baker fan, there I've said it, and aged myself dreadfully :) I can't deny that my enjoyment of Dr Who has been greatly enhanced by David Tennant's geeky hotness these last couple of years.
Now I hear he has got a show on NBC, some American friends have told me that this is not a struggling network, so maybe this is not such a good thing for him? Maybe his show and raw talent will turn the channel around! I have no fear that he wont master the accent as he has done a brilliant English accent for years, when in fact he has a strong Scottish burr.
My silly old heart harbours thoughts of him getting back with his ex Sophia Myles who some of you might know as Beth from Moonlight. They were such a lovely couple, but broke up when she got the job on Moonlight. They are probably both with some one now, but Madame Pompadour was one of my favourite Dr Who episodes ever. You know the one with the scarey Clockwork robots set in 18th century France. Maybe if they are both in the good old US of A.
Well I digress, while I'm pleased for Mr Tennant I can't help worrying that there will be no one left to act in British telly. You guys have already got Hugh Laurie, Joseph Fiennes, Jack Davenport, Dominic Monagham (all in one show) even Sonya Walger is English. Stephen Fry pops up on a regular basis. There was Rufus Sewell in Eleventh Hour, and Jonny Miller in Eli Stone.

This is great fun, I had forgotten how funny I used to find him and Stephen Fry, before Hugh went off to become an irritable American Doctor, and Stephen Fry didn't occasionally pop up being terribly British playing a Psychiatrist in Bones.
I love Bob Dylan, so find this impression of him very funny.

Was there any conflict reported between Teddy Dunn and Jason Dohring as Logan's role was expanded and Duncan's role was written out?
Also was there any gossip ever about Jason's Scientology beliefs causing any problems? I remember that there was a scene in Normal is the Watchword, where Teddy Dunn impersonates Tom Cruise's jumping around on the sofa moment. Just wondering if it might have been cut because it offended Jason

thinking that I would never see it. I don't know whether I want to watch it or not having read all about. Who has seen it and liked it? I doubt there is any plot to give away so feel free to say why :) I have noticed how we get to see episodes of cancelled shows or shows that might be cancelled in the UK, where you guys in the States don't. For example I saw the end episodes of Pushing Daisies and Eli Stone when I knew from online friends in the States, that they were still waiting to see the,
It seems strange that this happens, any one got any theories as to why?

This is superior tv folks, so well written and acted. I am only on Episode 10 but even though I know nothing about American Football, it has really grabbed me. Not sure why I haven't fallen in love it, will it grow on me even more through the coming seasons to you think?

My four year old is on tami flu with a temperature and runny nose and cough, prescribed after speaking to the gp yesterday on the phone. This is the new procedure they don't want to see you ,but diagnose over the phone. I am coming down with some thing, and the other two have runny noses and coughs but no temp, or not high enough to meet the criteria. We don't even know if he really has it, as the symptoms could mean any kind of virus, but at the moment Swine Flu really seems to be taking hold in the UK, and although still pretty mild for most sufferers there is a feeling of anxiety around.
As well as feeling anxious about if from a health point of view, it's just miserable as it's the first week of the school holidays here, and typically it is pouring down. So not only can I not take them anywhere, I can't even get out of the house and let them play in the garden.
I have ordered some dvds from Amazon and suspect that the telly is going to be on a lot. At the moment they are all playing with toy castles and fortressed, I reckon this should keep them going for at least 5 minutes....

It is so fantastically written, I am so glad that Dexter prevailed again. It must be very difficult to write a serial killer, even one who targets people with blood on their hands, and make them sympathetic. I am so glad that Miguel got what was coming to him, little did he realise that once he killed outside the code he had essentially signed his own death warrant.
Did any one else notice that they have toned down Dexter's killing methods, I am sure in Season 1 and maybe even 2 there was more evidence of Dexter physically torturing his victims, whereas this season, he seems to kill with one single blow to the chest. I must admit to finding some of the killing scenes pretty hard to take in earlier seasons, which is why I wonder if they are toning it down due to audience reaction. I think they must be careful to not over sanatise Dexter, part of the cleverness of the show is the way it manipulates the viewer, one moment feeling disgust for Dexter the next rooting for him.
My last thoughts are that they are possibly setting up Deb to find out about Dexter next Season, as she is tenacious and once she starts digging about her Father's CI lover, she is sure to uncover the rest. Any thoughts.....?

I knew exactly what happens of course, through watching all the LoVe bits online, reading fan fics etc, but I was reluctant to finish the series, I suppose because then my viewing of it would be completely finished too. Also I hated the way it was left open, and Logan and Veronica were broken up twice just for the sake of drama/ratings who knows.
I had watched the other series in a compulsive frenzy not stopping to eat or sleep :) And started season 3 with the same mindset a few months ago, but once I got to the point that they split up and then read about what happens I just couldn't bring myself to finish viewing.
I have to say that despite my frustrations about LoVe I don't think that S3 is as bad as some people think. I can see there are flaws in plot lines, but then S1 and S2 are not exempt from that. It does lose some of its magic, but I like Hearst and some of the new characters. It does feel a little choppy, and an insane amount is packed in to some episodes, namely the finale. I don't agree with people who feel that Logan's character was ruined, although I can see how some of the things he does are reprehensible, like running away from that fire in Mexico. I don't see that he is emasculated in any way, like I've read some people say. He is less raw because he is slowly trying to overcome the trauma of his Youth and is not proving his name in a murder case. I think the way he is with Parker, is how he would like to be with Veronica, he has such a loving heart. Veronica can be pretty annoying and unattractive in this Season, I feel they made her very cold at times and so smug at times.
I somtimes get the feeling that despite our best intentions our kids are spoiled. I am trying to sort out their toys, trying to put them in some kind of theme in boxes. You know Dinasours in one box, Dr Who in another etc etc I am coming to the conclusion that they just have too many. I am not aware of buying them loads, but every birthday seems to bring countless presents from extended family and friends.
We have a loft full of stuff we need to either bring down so that they can play with them, or sell or pass on as toys that no longer hold their interest. Within the house toys of every description seem to accumulate in corners and shelves. Oh to have a play room. The lounge is completely taken over. I try to get them to tidy up and treat their toys gently, but they are typical boys and are unintentionally rought with things, and things get broken pretty quickly here.
If I take things away from them, they are sad, but don't seem to miss them, too many other toys to replace them I guess. How did this happen? Should I reinvigorate my efforts to take less used toys to charity shops ( I sneak lots of things out of the house for this purpose as it is). Or should I concentrate on instilling them with more appreiciation for their toys? Or am I over romantising my childhood, and actually I had tons of toys as well, and my parents worried about the same things? I certainly know plenty of children who have tons more than mine.
I have been off work for 5 years looking after my children, and now it feels like I have been away for twice that long. Lots of things have changed and getting references is difficult as every one seems to have moved on, into different posts. I can't count the number of email undeliverable notices I have got in the last few days.
I feel de skilled, out of the loop and more than a little anxious. I used to be really good at my job, surely that can't all have evaporated over time?

Not having much luck but at least I managed to upload a new Icon. This is probably really stupid of me, but I can't work out how to do the mood icons. Also I tried to change the theme of the journal, i.e make it more colourful and I've changed my friend page but not this one. Argh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love the school, but have just been doing homework with my 6 year old and can't help thinking that it would be a lot easier in English. I seem to have a million and one things crying out for my attention at the moment. This is just an extra stresser. We are bombarded with requests for various bits of arts and crafts, for the twins we had to make percussion instruments, in other words shakers. For oldest we had to make a model of a park and then write about it (in welsh of course). It is really stretching my basic welsh, I think I need to do the next course up.
Not it's buying t shirts for them to decorate/dye. Last week it was making boats. On an on it goes, at least children are thrilled by it :)

General spoiler warning: I have read all the books so can't help compare the show and the books so look away now if you only watch the show.
Well I am up to episode 10 so far and I am really enjoying it. I thought that if it was anything like the books then I would, and of course it draws from the books pretty heavily. There are some major differences though, some of which I like and some I am not so keen on.
I find the whole Jason and V juice thing interesting and I know from the show writers point of view he is gold, I mean hot guy, lots of sex scenes. I can see why they want to flesh his part out (if you will excues the pun).
Sam and Tara seems to be a bit unnecesscary to me. From memory Tara is a character from the books but she is much more in the background in the books and doesn't sleep with Sam or work at the bar. I think that it undermines Sam's supposed crush on Sookie by having him sleeping with Tara, at this point he is supposed to be really trying to be close to Sookie.
Now onto the big issue for me, Eric. Now I have to confess that I am an Eric Shipper, and those of you who have read the books will know why. Bill turns out to be a real let down and Eric is the one that comes through for Sookie time and time again. One of the major differences so far, is that in the books Eric kills Long Shadow to save Sookie. Although there is no romance between Sookie and Eric in the first book he is still set up as some on who is reluctantly charmed by her, despite using her for his own interests. That he doesn't save her in the show really sets Bill up to be the hero. I know there is a whole tribunal thing to come which is not in the books as well. As Eric got away with just paying a fine for killing Long Shadow.

I post so much on Veronica Mars sites that I feel a bit guilty about my Moonlight banner, although I did love that programme. Now a photo of both Jason and Alex well I think that would be completely swoon worthy :)
Finally starting to feel better as the antibiotics kick in, and we are decided we are going to drive down to west wales and stay in our family caravan. This could be a recipe for disaster as the great British weather is notoriously fickle even though the forecast is good. I am concerned about my husbands ability to pack things we actually need to take, and have noticed that all of the children's most suitable clothes are still in the wash....
However the views over the estuary and the Irish Sea, plus the amazing fresh salty air will hopefully make it all worth while.

I had such a big shock last week, when I ended up having my appendix out, this led to an operation (obviously) and 6 days in hospital. My Asthma was pretty bad prior to the op, and now I have been hit by a chest infection probably brought on my the GA. Not feeling too positive today, hopefully I will get some kick arse antibiotics from my gp, and finally start to feel well again.
This all gives me plenty of time for reading and tv viewing. My initial thoughts on a variety of Season finales are as follows:
Lost: I'm sorry to see Juliet go, and like a lot of people perplexed as to how it is going to play out in the final season, just when it had started to gain a coherency, not it's gone totally bizarre again! I guess I should look up my old testament as this seems to be the way to go.
Greys Anatomy: I am a bit unsure about this finale, sure it had lots of drama and angst, but I am so fed up of Izzie Izzie Izzie god I hope she is the one who shuffles off this mortal coil. The post it wedding seemed to be inserted to please MerDer fans, and although sweet seemed a bit odd to me. Where was Derek's family when they were going to get married properly? Continuity down the drain again.
Bones: Well we are one away from the finale here in the UK, so we have just had the episode where Booth learns about his tumour, what is it with these writers and their hallucinations? Who decided to go down this route first, Greys writers or Bones? I feel like this series is really losing it's way now, the cases are much less interesting than they were, and although I like the Booth and Bones dynamic, it is often played in a completely unbelievable way. They have changed Booth to more of a buffoon and Bones they are making like she has Aspergers, in earlier series she was abrupt and logical but not completely oblivious in the way they portray her now.
In other news, I am delighted with the Three rivers pick up as I am a total Alex o louglin fan from Moonlight days, he is one of the ost gorgeous actors out there, and he is a good actor as well, not to be sniffed at. Just a bit unsure about the premise of the show, can't say it floats my boat, but will watch and see.
Not sure what has happened to Jason's new show, is it going ahead or what? He is so talented, really there should be something out there for him, he is absalutely mesmorising.

I am basically on this site because I am a fan fiction junkie, I am particularly addicted to Veronica Mars fiction, but am also partial to Moonlight, Supernatural and Greys Anatomy stories. I am always meaning to try my hand at writing some fan fiction, something I should have some chance of doing reasonably well being a big fan of certain shows and a English literature student way back, but I never get up my nerve. Still I really enjoy reading other people's fictions. And not just the dirty ones!
In terms of my tv viewing here is my list, I doubt I will be able to make it comprehensive but I will give it a go. Current tv viewing includes:
Greys Anatomy, The Mentalist, The Sarah Connor Chronicles, Heroes, Dr Who, Torchwood, Criminal Minds, NCIS, Ashes to Ashes, Bones, Lost and Supernatural to name a few. Programmes that I love which have either been cancelled or are not currently showing on UK TV include: Moonlight, Veronica Mars, True Blood (It's coming soon) Dexter, Being Human.
My rather unfortunate name "medjunkie" comes from trying to pick a name for a Greys Anatomy site, and not thinking through the fact that it would look like I have a drug problem. I have also been on various sites as hoffi coffi, which means "like coffee" in Welsh.
Not wanting to put too many personnal details on here, I will say that I live in Wales in the UK, hence the title of my journal. As well as watching telly, I enjoy reading, Paranormal Romance is my guilty pleasure but I like to think that I tend to read the better quality ones, or maybe the really smutty ones who knows?! I also enjoy reading the classics, theatre, cinema and bird watching ( I know it makes me sound like a geek, but I don't care). My other main passions are cooking, which I really love and dancing, I am really into my music and like various sounds and bands, but do find a good beat hard to resist and will often be found boogeying in my kitchen listening to the radio while I cook up something amazing.....
